I was born and raised on a farm/ranch in Southwestern North Dakota near a small town of 1500 residents known as Bowman. I was raised by my parents to appreciate the outdoors. My father introduced me and my two older brothers to hunting at very young ages and it has been in my blood ever since.
At the age of 10 I began shooting archery equipment and firearms and shortly thereafter I was hooked on the sport of hunting for big game. I quickly became successful in harvesting whitetail, mule deer, antelope, turkey, and elk with my archery equipment as well as with rifle. I couldn`t get enough of it, and to this day, that hasn`t changed one bit. Hunting to me is a tradition that is honed from years of experience and family background.
I am employed full time by the South Dakota National Guard. I am the Program Manager for the Innovative Readiness Training Program. I coordinate medical and engineer projects throughout the state. Most projects involve helping the society in which we work and live by improving and building roads, buildings, recreation areas, medical facilities and waterways.
I enjoy my time that I put forth to support the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Mule Deer Foundation, National Wild Turkey Federation, and other local sportmans clubs. I feel that supporting these clubs and others is a must for today`s changing society and culture. After all, it is up to each of us to ensure that hunting continues into the future. We are each a spokesperson for hunting and the outdoors and we must make a positive impact.
I enjoy writing articles for various magazines. It allows me to relive my experiences and knowledge through written expression. I have written numerous articles for Eastman`s Bowhunting Journal, Eastman`s Hunting Journal and enjoy writing articles for Trophy Hunter Magazine, Bowhunting World, Bowhunter Magazine and Dakota Country Magazine. I also interact on numerous websites and talk forums on the internet to help promote the products that I use and to support everything that is encompassed in this society. I also video my hunts and have plans to put my footage to use when given the opportunities. I will continue to write articles for these magazines and others into the future as long as the opportunity presents itself. I take extreme pride in sharing my photos, experiences and/or knowledge with sportsmen/women around the world, my goal is to always make the reader feel as if they were there on the hunt themselves.
I am very happy and grateful to have obtained the support from PSE Archery, Wac'em Broadheads, Mossy Oak, Montana Decoys, Hips Targets, Nikon Optics, Extreme Stabilization, Scott Archery, Custom Bow Equipment, Sitka Gear, Browning, Russell Outdoors, and Scorpion Venom Archery Lubricants, as well as many others. I do all that I can do to help promote their products and services. I am also the Regional Pro Staff Manager for Montana Decoy and I am responsible for putting together "Team Decoy" in North and South Dakota.
From the solid beginning I have dedicated myself to mastering hunting big game in North America. I hunt primarily on my own and plan my own hunts while striving to achieve success each time I set foot in the wild. My interest in hunting is a family heritage honed from years of growing up hunting with my father and two older brothers. I can`t remember my first hunting trip because it was at such an early age. I take extreme pride in my knowledge and hunting success and I attribute much of it to my family and friends. Thanks to them, I have become very successful at harvesting big, mature animals. I currently hold the top SCI Non-Typical Merriams Turkey as well as the #2, #3, and #4 positions in the same category.
I will continue to do all that I can to help promote hunting into the future and I also look forward to the new relationships that I will build along the way. |
