Hunting has been a part of my life since I was born. My parents packed me into my first backcountry camp before my second birthday.
I grew up hunting and fishing and now have made it my life. Born and raised in Reno, Nevada I hunted anything I could get a tag for. I also made trips every year to Montana to chase, elk, deer and bears.
After graduating high school I started guiding in Montana and other states across the west in the fall while going to school in Reno during the spring and summer. After five years of guiding I started my own outfitting business, Montana OutWest Outfitters, in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana. We have been featured on Realtree monster bulls as well as on Outdoor`s Ten Best: Top Elk Destinations. I currently split my time between Nevada and Montana traveling and hunting everywhere in-between.
Between hunting, fishing, guiding, and scouting I spend close to 200 days a year in the field. I regularly hunt most the western states including Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
My passion is archery hunting elk and mule deer. I have taken many trophies with both a gun and a bow all on self-guided trips. Although I enjoy chasing trophy animals my hunting philosophy revolves around the hunting experience - whether I am the one with the tag or I am guiding someone else I just like to be out hunting.
When I am not hunting I enjoy writing hunting articles and sharing my experience in the field with others. As a writer I have been the editor of Real Hunting Magazine, and the Managing Editor of R&T magazine. I am currently a field editor for Western Hunter Magazine and have had my own articles as well as articles about my hunts appear in Muley Crazy, Hunting Illustrated, Wild Sheep, Trophy Hunter, Buckmasters Racks Magazine, Outdoor Life online, as well as various other newspapers and online hunting periodicals.
Online I run a hunting blog at Follow The Hunt Remi Warren. For information on my hunts please visit Montana OutWest Outfitters.
I have been successfully using Montana Decoys for years on my own hunts as well as on client`s hunts. One of my favorite decoy tactics is to use multiple elk decoys to create a small herd of cows. It seems to be irresistible!
Along with being on Team Decoy I am currently on the pro-staff for Wac'em BroadheadsSpot-Hogg sights
